Every machine has a laminated quick-start card and a QR code linking to a three-minute induction video. Red-tagged tools need a supervisor sign-off before solo use.

• Table Saw

  SawStop 10″ contractor. Flesh-detect brake. Rip capacity 635mm.

• Thicknesser

  DeWalt DW735. Max width 330mm, depth 6mm per pass.

• Router Table

  Triton TRA001 in a Kreg table. Collet set ¼″ and ½″.

• Bandsaw

  Rikon 10-326. Resaw capacity 305mm. Blade guide set weekly.

• MIG Welder

  Weldmaster 185S. Steel and stainless wire. Gas and flux-core.

• Angle Grinder Station

  Two Makita 125mm grinders, cutting and flap discs provided.

• Drill Press

  Hafco PD-360. MT3 taper, 16-speed, 25mm chuck.

• 3D Printers × 3

  Prusa MK4 (PLA, PETG, ASA). Build volume 250 × 210 × 220mm.

• Resin Printer

  Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra. Wash and cure station beside it. Ventilated enclosure.

• Laser Cutter

  xTool P2 55W CO₂. Bed 600 × 400mm. Cuts acrylic, ply, leather, fabric.

• CNC Router

  Shapeoko 4 XXL. Cutting area 838 × 838mm. Induction required.

• Sewing Machines × 5

  Janome HD3000 heavy-duty. Free arm, walking foot included.

• Overlocker

  Juki MO-644D. 2/3/4-thread. Differential feed.

• Coverstitch

  Janome CoverPro 2000CPX. For hems and stretch binding.

Every tier includes safety inductions, tool maintenance sessions and a vote at the AGM. Under-18s need a guardian co-sign and are welcome at all supervised sessions.

• Dovetail Joinery

  with Hēmi Tūhoe · Sat 3 Oct · 9am – 4pm

  Hand-cut dovetails from layout to glue-up. All timber and chisels provided. Take home a small box.

• Beginner Sewing: Tote Bag

  with Rae Ngata · Sun 4 Oct · 10am – 1pm

  Thread a machine, sew a straight line, install a zip. Leave with a lined tote and the confidence to tackle a garment.

  Clean beads on stainless and mild steel. Bring a maquette or work from one of Josh's briefs. Gas included.

  Model a serving board in Fusion, generate toolpaths, cut it on the Shapeoko. Laptop required; free Fusion licence for hobbyists.

  Onion skins, avocado pits, iron water. Dye a metre of cotton and a skein of wool with plants from the garden behind the shop.
