Pigmentation Correction
From $200 20–40 minQ-switched Nd:YAG targets sun damage, age spots and melasma. We require a patch test and two-week wait before your first full session.

02 How laser works
Selective photothermolysis, made simple.
Every laser treatment works on one principle: light energy is absorbed by a target chromophore — melanin for pigmentation and hair, oxyhaemoglobin for veins, water for skin resurfacing — and converted to heat. The surrounding tissue stays cool because each pulse lasts less than the target's thermal relaxation time.
That is why different wavelengths suit different concerns, and why a registered nurse with device-specific training matters. We match wavelength, pulse duration and fluence to your skin type (Fitzpatrick I–VI) and the depth of your concern.

Free consultation
We assess your skin, discuss goals and medical history, and recommend a treatment plan. Takes about twenty minutes at our Shotover Street clinic. No obligation.

Patch test
A small area is treated at the proposed settings. We photograph it and book your full session two weeks later once we confirm no adverse reaction.

Treatment
Protective eyewear on, numbing cream if needed, then pulse by pulse. Most clients compare the sensation to a rubber band snap. Cooling gel is applied throughout.

Aftercare
SPF 50 for four weeks (we supply it on your first visit), no hot showers for 24 hours, and a follow-up text at 48 hours. Your next session is booked before you leave.

Every practitioner at Lumière holds current NZNO registration and at least NZQA Level 5 in Appearance Medicine. We do not employ therapists for laser treatments.
