03 · Exams & performance
Tempo prepares students for NZAMD graded and vocational exams in classical ballet and contemporary. Examiners visit the studio annually in September. Students also perform in our end-of-year show at the Civic Theatre and compete at Southland Performing Arts.

Director · Ballet & Contemporary
RAD-trained, NZAMD examiner. Fifteen years teaching in Southland. Founded Tempo in 2014.
Hip-Hop & Street
Competed nationally with Rogue Collective. Teaches all hip-hop streams and choreographs the troupe's festival sets.
Contemporary & Jazz
BPA from Unitec. Guest artist with Footnote NZ Dance. Runs the contemporary advanced class and the jazz musical-theatre stream.
Tiny Temps & Junior Ballet
Specialist in early-childhood creative movement. NZAMD teaching certificate, Level 6.
05 · Fees & uniform
Uniform: Ballet — black leotard, pink tights, canvas split-sole shoes. Contemporary — black unitard or leotard, bare feet. Hip-hop — black track pants, Tempo crew tee ($30 from the studio). Jazz — black leotard, tan jazz shoes.
06 · Enrol
New students can try one class free before enrolling. Tell us the student's age and which style they want to try, and we will suggest the right class and time.
