A day at Purr Palace

  1. Gentle wake-up. Fresh water and breakfast served in-suite — your cat's own food or our premium kibble.

  2. Morning play session. Feather wands, laser dots, tunnel runs — tailored to your cat's energy level.

  3. Quiet time. Heated beds on, blinds angled for sun patches. Soft classical music in the background.

  4. Lunch and medication round. Vet nurse administers pills, liquid or insulin as directed.

  5. Afternoon enrichment. Puzzle feeders, catnip toys, garden time for Penthouse guests.

  6. Dinner. Fresh water refreshed. Litter trays cleaned for the second time today.

  7. Settle. Lights dimmed, soft music, heated beds on. Daily photo sent to your phone.

Medical boarding

Our vet nurse, Kate, is on site Monday to Saturday. She can administer pills, liquid medication and insulin injections as directed by your vet. The medication surcharge is $8 per day per cat.

We keep a complete log of every dose: time, amount and any notes. You'll get a copy at checkout. Kāpiti Vet Centre is a two-minute drive if anything comes up after hours.

All medication must arrive in original packaging with your vet's written instructions. We don't accept unlabelled or expired medication.

What to bring

Essential

  • Vaccination certificate (F3 minimum, within 12 months)
  • Your cat's regular food (or we supply premium kibble free)
  • Any medication in original packaging with vet instructions
  • Emergency contact number

  • Favourite toy or blanket (smells like home)
  • Familiar bed or sleeping mat
  • Treats for enrichment sessions

Our policies

Cancellation
48 hours' notice for a full refund. Within 48 hours, one night charged.
Late pickup
$25 fee if not collected by 11am on checkout day. After 5pm, a full additional night is charged.
Early collection
No refund for unused nights.
Vaccinations
F3 (feline enteritis, calicivirus, rhinotracheitis) required within the last 12 months. No exceptions.
Medication
Must be in original packaging with written vet instructions. We don't accept unlabelled medication.
Fleas & worms
Cats must be treated within 4 weeks of check-in. We treat on arrival if needed ($15).
