Common questions.
What do I need to rent?
A valid NZ driver's licence or passport and a credit card for the deposit hold. We verify ID in store; no online-only rentals. Under-18s need a parent or guardian present.
Can I rent and then buy the same item?
Yes. If you decide to buy within 30 days, we credit up to three days' rental toward the purchase price. The item must be returned in the same condition.
What happens if I damage rented gear?
Normal wear — a few scuffs, a dusty sensor — is included. Significant damage (cracked element, bent mount, water ingress) is charged at repair cost. We recommend your own contents insurance cover the gear while rented.
Do you ship rentals?
No. All rentals are collected and returned in store at 48 Dee Street, Invercargill. This keeps costs low and means we can check gear face to face.
Do you buy used gear?
Yes. Bring it in and we will test and quote on the spot — bodies, lenses, flashes, tripods, bags. We pay cash or credit toward a purchase. We do not buy phones, drones or action cameras.
What brands do you carry?
New: Sony, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, Godox, Manfrotto, Peak Design. Used: anything in working condition that takes interchangeable lenses. We do not stock compact cameras or phone accessories.
